Guide to Infection Prevention through Care of the Healthcare Facility Environment
Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) remain a significant source of concern for healthcare facilities of all types and sizes. While there has been much work to bring down the rates of infection, there’s more to be done. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that, on any given day, one of every 31 hospital patients suffers from at least one HAI.In this guide, we’ll address some of the types of infections that are caused by environmental hazards and promoted by inadequate infrastructure. While hospitals have begun to improve infection surveillance around certain bacterial and fungal infections, additional risks remain to be addressed.
