IDC’s InfoBrief shows that workload mobility is becoming core to IT operations. Nearly three-quarters of organizations plan to repatriate some public cloud workloads into dedicated infrastructure within two years, mainly due to data security, privacy, performance, and unpredictable pricing. Private cloud is the most common destination, with 57% of repatriated workloads landing there. Multi-cloud and hybrid approaches are growing, enabling continuous balancing between on-premises and off-premises environments. Dedicated infrastructure-as-a-service solutions further ease rebalancing, helping enterprises ensure compliance, manage costs, and optimize performance across diverse workloads.
