Verizon Frontline Trains with National Guard for Crisis Response | Verizon Business
The Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team supported Homeland Defender 23, a four-day disaster response exercise led by the Indiana National Guard. The exercise, involving over 500 participants, aimed to enhance coordination among military, civilian emergency personnel, and first responders. Verizon Frontline addressed network challenges in disaster zones by deploying solutions such as Satellite Picocells on Trailers (SPOT), the Tactical Humanitarian Operations Response (THOR) vehicle, drones, and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. These assets provided critical communication, situational awareness, and network coverage in areas with little or no connectivity. The exercise simulated a major earthquake, testing evacuations, search and rescue, and urban extraction operations.
