For instance, Pixar leveraged VAST for its film Elemental, which required handling 6 times the data footprint of previous projects. VAST's platform moved over 7 petabytes of data into a single high-performance namespace, allowing hundreds of thousands of processors to access data simultaneously. This kept Pixar’s render farm fully utilized and ensured uninterrupted performance even under peak loads, with nearly 2 petabytes accessed at once.
