The rapid rise of remote work exposed the limitations of traditional VPNs, which were originally built to support only a small portion of the workforce. As demand grew, many organizations struggled to scale their VPN infrastructures, leading to slow performance, congestion, and weakened security. Because VPNs are inherently difficult to expand, companies often face tradeoffs between usability and protection. With remote work now a long-term reality, relying on an unscalable VPN model is no longer viable. Organizations must adopt more flexible, secure remote access solutions to support a distributed workforce effectively.
