Access control options for wired networks
Wired networks often lack the strict access controls applied to wireless, creating security gaps. As IoT devices and personal equipment proliferate in workplaces, consistent identity and device visibility are critical. Non-AAA enforcement simplifies wired network policy deployment without requiring 802.1X supplicants. Using techniques like DHCP fingerprinting, WMI, and SNMP scans, devices are profiled and validated against directories to apply appropriate policies. This approach enhances visibility, supports compliance, and strengthens security while minimizing configuration efforts.
