Challenge In waterflood injector wells, conserve internal well diameter while improving distribution of injected water. Objective: As part of a multi-well program, isolate severe water-thief zones in a field where squeezing, casing patches and dual packer isolation assemblies rarely worked. Solution: Using 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 in. cased-hole SET® systems (~40 ft & ~80 ft), a thief zone in the middle of multiple wells was accurately covered without closing off perforations in other injection zones above and below.
