Wiring Harness RTP Company End-Use Case Study Flame Retardant Compound Meets Multiple Design Criteria Marconi Communications provides both hardware and software for telecommunications applications. Headquartered in London, their equipment is placed worldwide into plants and offices in more than 100 different countries. And although some of their systems are wireless, much of their equipment is not. To direct and protect cables, Marconi manufactures a megaphone-shaped communications cone. Mounted in outdoor cabinets, the cone functions much like a traditional wiring harness, funneling cables and protecting them through climate changes as varied as the Earth’s terrain. Originally molded from PVC, the cone was exposed to some extreme conditions that promoted the growth of fungus on the part.
