Wireless Solution Drives Down Climbing Crime Rates and Increases Public Safety
Overview In 2010, the city of Columbus - the most populated city in Ohio - was facing an unprecedented period of violence. In an effort to drive down escalating violent crime rates, city officials and civic leaders decided to take a high- tech approach to solving the problem. Partnering with MCIS, they piloted a Neighborhood Safety Program where safety cameras would be placed in strategic locations throughout five high-crime neighborhoods.
