The Willow Man of Somerset was first constructed in 2000 and is situated in a field alongside the northbound carriageway of the M5 motorway, near Bridgwater. It recently received a £18,000 haircut from its original sculptor thanks to specialist equipment designed to provide access on muddy and uneven terrain. At 12-metres high and with an arm-span of five metres, the Willow Man is thought to be one of the largest wicker statues in the world.
