Wellington Street Swing Bridge Case Study Assessment of historic cast iron swing bridge Development and analysis of strengthening options prior to refurbishment Wellington Street Swing Bridge is a historic 18th century, listed, cast iron bridge that spans a lock basin between the Humber estuary and Hull Marina in the UK. The bridge had fallen into dis-repair over the years so, in 1999, Pell Frischmann was commisioned by Hull City Council to carry out an inspection of the bridge and to provide an assessment of its strength. Then, in 2004, another commission was given to Pell Frischmann to investigate thefeasibility of bringing the bridge back into use and to develop refurbishment options.
