WATERPROOFING EXISTING BUILDING - BAR M, CARDIFF
A thriving bar near the Millennium Stadium in the city of Cardiff. The basement bar/function room has a 250 head capacity and forms an essential part of the business. When it was found that the basement was flooding following heavy rainfall, the basement was rendered unusable and Loss Adjusters called for the help of Protectahome’s specialist skills. THE SOLUTION Protectahome designed and installed a Type C drained protection waterproofing system. The system included the use of drainage channels below the floor which are connected to multiple sump chambers containing automatic dual pumps, with high water alarms in each sump chamber. The walls were lined to full height using an 8mm stud Cavity Drain Membrane. The membrane was “curtain hung” using 11mm Waters
