Water Campus Advanced Water Treatment Expansion, City of Scottsdale, AZ The 11.9 mgd Water Campus Advanced Water Treatment (AWT) system treats tertiary e?uent for recharge and irrigation using micro?ltration (MF) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems. The existing RO system uses 14 existing RO trains with two di?erent types of RO membranes. The MF and RO systems include auxiliary systems (feed pump stations, chemical feed, clean in place, and ?ushing systems). The treated e?uent is recharged using 27 vadose zone wells for a total capacity of 18.7 mgd. These wells were experiencing some failure; the cause was determined and the wells redeveloped under this project. The City has been on the forefront of implementing innovative treatment systems to ensure water quality that surpasses the regulator
