USPS Vehicle Maintenance Facility PROBLEM: The United States Postal Service Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) is a 91,000 square feet building, spanning three floors and is one of the largest and oldest VMFs in the country. Keeping its concrete floors safe and attractive was consuming an incredible amount of time and money. Supervisors were worried about employee safety because much of the safety yellow floor markings were worn away and grease and oil from vehicles were making the floor slippery. In addition, the existing four layers of old paint contained lead, a potentially detrimental health and safety issue.
