The Nuclear Power Plant wanted to conduct a Cyber Security Incident Response Drill to comply with NEI 08-09 Sections 7.2, 7.3 and 8.3 requirements to integrate into their internal Cyber Security Plan. The main challenge in conducting such a drill was the availability of plant resources to design and conduct the exercise. Their staff had other priorities related to their Cyber Security Plan. They also wanted to test their own people’s expertise and working with a third party allowed more plant staff to participate in the drill. Finally, thanks to decades of experience in the nuclear industry, the Foxguard experts could provide new ideas that the plant staff had not thought of and create innovative solutions to integrate into the scenario.
