Summary The Landing Gear Test Facility (LGTF) at Wright Patterson AFB's mission is to provide Research Development Test and Evaluation for aircraft safety and sustainment through world-class full scale test and evaluation of aircraft launch & alighting hardware (struts, wheels, brakes, tires, anti-skid, etc.). LGTF operates a large-scale, one-of-a- kind dynamometer for testing a range of commercial and military US Air Force Landing Gear Test Facility (LGTF)aircraft tires. The dynamometer evaluates tire performance and wear characteristics across scenarios such as takeo, landing, and taxi. This dynamometer had an aging control system that could not meet LGTF's current test requirements and goals.
