Chicago State University (CSU) modernized its IT infrastructure with Fortinet to secure two campuses, residence halls, labs, and clinics that rely on always-available networks. Initially seeking NAC, CSU adopted FortiNAC, then expanded to FortiAP Wi-Fi, FortiSwitch, and FortiGate NGFWs for unified visibility and easier management. FortiLink integration extended firewall policies across the LAN, while FortiGuard services provided web filtering, antivirus, and real-time threat alerts. CSU also deployed FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, and FortiClient EMS to improve analytics and ZTNA. Results: zero downtime since 2021, 35% lower TCO, improved performance, and fewer IT staff needed for operations.
