SWBR was engaged to provide new finishes including paint, carpet, and furnishings. Tibetan Wool was chosen because its colors coordinated well with existing floor tile that remained in the space. Another compelling reason was performance and maintenance — since the space is a residential dining hall, the architects wanted a nylon 6,6 carpet, for cleanibility. The long-tonal gradients and subtle geometric aesthetics of the pattern were not only aesthetically pleasing, but also busy enough to mask dirt between cleanings.
