University of Louisville Trager Center The University of Louisville’s Trager Center indoor practice facility is just north of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium and is used by the Cardinal football team. A Kirby Building Systems 213’ x 422’ clear span building with a 37’-8” eave height and 4:12 roof slope was used. The main frame columns were tapered, reverse slope with a haunch depth limited to 5’-10” to maintain a 202’ interior clear span. The 422’ length provides for a full 120 yard practice surface, with facility support structures at each end. KBS supplied spandrel beams at the exterior walls to support masonry and “Kalwall” translucent wall systems by others. The exterior wall construction set flush to the inner straight column flanges.
