The Building: The University of Ghent consists of many buildings all of different ages, some of these buildings house high-voltage transformers which are controlled and monitored by the technical staff at the University. Some of the newer buildings have sealed material but many of the older buildings sll have open, but secured, cabinets. The Challenge: Every room has one or more fire detectors which need to be tested at least once a year. Organising access is not always easy - for safety reasons a minimum of two people are required which takes up a lot of me and money. A soluon was sought which would offer an easier, risk free method of funconally tesng these detectors.
