The United Center, the largest NBA indoor arena and second-largest NHL venue, upgraded its Wi-Fi network with RUCKUS Networks to enhance fan experience and support over 200 annual events. The legacy Wi-Fi was outdated, designed for lower capacity, and struggled with throughput as fans returned post-COVID-19 using multiple devices. RUCKUS deployed Wi-Fi 6 access points (R650, R750, T750), ICX switches, SmartZone controllers, and AI-driven management, delivering robust coverage, improved connectivity even on the arena floor, and enhanced security. The network supports seamless streaming, mobile food ordering, and staff operations, handling high data loads without buffering.
