UEA has extended its Fujitsu HPC cluster to meet growing demand
At a glance Country: United Kingdom Industry: Education Founded: 1963 Website: uea.ac.uk Challenge UEA’s existing HPC cluster could no longer meet customer demands, with HPC job numbers more than doubling in four years. It needed to find an affordable way to extend HPC capability without compromising performance. Solution UEA worked with partner OCF to deploy around 100 new FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY nodes. It also integrated additional memory and Intel® Skylake architecture so it can run the demanding application pipelines being developed by the Computational Biology groups at UEA. Benefit ¦ Projects can be completed up to ten times faster ¦ Flexible architecture provides best price/ performance balance ¦ Improved HPC capacity attracts new researchers and enables cutting-ed
