Project Highlights: The Chongqing Expressway Project has provided significant development space for sustainable urban growth in Chongqing and optimized the local transportation network. The City’s busy urban expressway serves both the surrounding urban areas and the needs of long-distance through traffic. It comprises five horizontal, six vertical, one ring and nine connection roads. The total length of the expressway is 14.3 kilometers. Its red line has a width of 64 meters and incorporates six lanes of traffic. With a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour, the expressway also includes one particularly large bridge, the Jialing River Bridge, as well as nine interchange bridges and three road tunnels.
