System Solution In order to accomplish all of Tim Hortons’ goals for the new facility, several design parameters had to be met: • Tim Hortons delivers both ambient and frozen products to their retail stores on the same truck, so the system had to accommodate both frozen and ambient temperature product and deliver products from two storage facilities to the same loading area. • The system had to allow for full pallets into the Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) and mixed SKU (store ready) pallets from the ASRS to the dock. • The system had to be designed to allow for 2X, and ultimately 4X, expansion with minimal impact to daily operations during any expansion phase.
