T2B, the project where Syneto’s collaboration was required, is a collaboration within IIHE, between 6 universities, to deploy a large computing facility that could support the huge amounts of data created by these high energy physics experiments. The Challenge Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the IIHE are at the forefront of particle physics research and by definition wanted their IT infrastructure to also be cutting-edge.
