BBC Chartering October 2014 – San Antonio is a major Chilean Port Chile which is the countries’ largest in terms of freight handled and the busiest port at the western coast of South America. The port of San Antonio enjoys effective hinterland connections. It is connected to Chile’s road network through two routes, and also has dedicated access to the country’s rail network. Now, as part of their concession planning, the two major terminal operators STI and Puerto Central continue to invest into expanding their cargo handling capacities. For that matter, a number of additional gantry cranes (RTGs) were purchased just recently in order to upgrade the STI terminal. The BBC Spring, a 166 meter long heavy lift vessel delivered four RTG units from Phu My, Vietnam to the STI port of San Antonio
