An additional staircase and an external roof terrace were just two of the demands: all for completion within a tight, 4-month timescale, which required careful planning. The brief called for a calm, bright and joyous space with elements of Narnia- style discovery and Alice in Wonderland-like scale changes in a relatively restricted area, which resulted in the designer’s favourite feature: a hidden, two-story office space behind a secret wall and lit through walk-on glazed roof lights from the deck above.
