THE NATIONAL GRID Decommission/Demolish Gas Transmission Assets The National Grid June 2010 The National Grid contracted Ron Hull Demolition to de-commission, demolish and recycle Gas Transmission Assets in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, following successful field trials, attended by a high ranking delegation from The National Grid. Thinking 'outside of the box' Ron Hull Demolition Ltd pioneered a cost-effective way of undertaking the decommissioning and demolition work, maximizing benefits to the Client. More than 1400 tonnes of steel was recovered and recycled, using an 80 tonne Mechanical Excavator specially adapted for the work.
