Helvetia Insurance Group, based in St. Gallen, Switzerland, used HashiCorp Terraform to successfully migrate 200 applications from on-premises data centers to the public cloud (AWS and Azure) within one year. The migration required automation and standardization of infrastructure provisioning and application migration. Using Terraform, Helvetia’s cloud enablement team created “landing zones”—fully configured cloud accounts with necessary connectivity and policies—that allowed internal product teams to quickly provision cloud resources by simply filling out a form, reducing provisioning times from days to minutes.
