The Celtic Manor Resort The Client The Celtic Manor, host of the successful 2010 Ryder Cup is the most prestigious hotel in Wales and one of RUMM’s first customers. With 400 bedrooms as well as extensive golfing and conference facilities the hotel’s complex logistics made energy difficult to manage. The Brief RUMM was asked to investigate energy usage at the resort and provide solutions and suggestions for reducing the annual £1million energy bill. The Method The Resort was split into three cost areas for energy management purposes and an aM&T system of 21 meters was installed. Following a six week benchmarking period, weekly site meetings were held in order to identify ‘quick wins’ .
