Temuco Bridge | Chile The Cautín River in Chile separates the communities of Temuco, capital of the Araucanía Region and economic hub, and the growing city of Padre Las Casas. Many families commute between the two cities for work in their cars, or by bus and taxi. Challenge As the communities of Temuco and Padre Las Casas have grown, road infrastructure has not been able to keep pace with travel demand. The business districts of the city and the approaches to the two existing crossings over the Cautín River regularly experience high levels of tra?c congestion, inadequate tra?c signage and increasingly long commuting times between the two cities. Solution Louis Berger provided concept design, detail design and construction supervision for a third bridge connecting Temuco and Padre Las Casas
