BuroHappold was involved in the initial design of new suspended walkways, and for the full design of environmental systems to improve visitor comfort and preserve the ancient Roman pavement. The project involved detailed site investigations and surveys to coordinate new services routes and openings. During construction, great care was taken in the methodology, and we worked closely with the contractor to ensure that the refurbishment could be carried out while the museum remained open to visitors.
