Visitors who take a trip along one of the many scenic Norwegian country routes to see the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall, are treated to a dramatic nature experience. The ­ magnificent­ waterf all­ is­ a­ popular ­ tourist­ magnet­ and­ an­ important gateway to the traditional Hardanger district. Last summer season it was so crowded by tourists that there were simply not enough parking spaces available to accommodate them. T o make matters worse, the path to the waterfall was badly worn and unstable.
