Founded in 1555 by Sir Thomas White (Lord Mayor of London) it is the wealthiest of the colleges in Oxford with a financial endowment of £442 million (2015). It is based on a single 5.5 hectare site in the St Giles area of Oxford. It has a host of buildings organised around 7 quadrangles, which are home to 390 undergraduates, 250 postgraduates and over 100 academic staff.
