Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee and Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc on the State, and these extreme weather events have heralded the immediate need to rebuild more resilient communities. Challenge South Valley Stream in Nassau County, New York, is vulnerable to ?ooding from tidal and precipitation storm events due to several creeks extending into the community.
