Challenge Gas or fluid entry into the cement channel and its movement to surface through the surface casing annulus is known as surface casing vent flow. This phenomenon causes sustained annulus pressure (SAP) and is a familiar issue in the oil and gas industry. During vent flow tests, in an Ellersile reservoir well, showed that approximately 10 m 3 /d of gas was flowing from the annulus between surface and production casings. The measured surface annulus pressure after 24 hrs of shut-in time exceeded 1000 KPa. The operator wanted to locate the source of the leaks to conduct remedial work prior to plug and abandonment. Solution The operator selected TGT’s Cement Seal Integrity to evaluate the well and locate the sources of the gas reaching the surface. Delivered using t
