This case study examines how Sembcorp, a global energy and urban development company, addressed gaps in Microsoft 365 data protection as part of its cloud-first strategy. After migrating Exchange to Microsoft 365, the organization relied on default journaling and litigation holds, which proved inadequate for rapid recovery and business continuity. By deploying a cloud-native backup platform, Sembcorp gained centralized management of over 3,000 endpoints and Exchange Online accounts. The solution enabled faster restores, improved disaster recovery and business continuity planning, and ensured regulatory compliance across regions. As a result, Sembcorp achieved twelve times faster email restores, full data visibility, and a more flexible Opex-based IT model.
