At various times in history, Algeria has been part of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Challenge Algeria has a 104,000-kilometer roadway network, including 71,656 kilometers of paved roads. While the country’s highway system is one of the most developed in Africa, the government sought to further expand it. Solution The National Agency of Highways selected Louis Berger to manage the construction of a 65-kilometer second Algiers ring road.
