An East coast scrap processor needed a better way to sort the non-ferrous materials coming through their facility. The existing process was disadvantageous and consisted of piling the material on the ground to sort through by hand. - The General Kinematics team assisted indeveloping a two-part system that would be able to handle both the metering and sorting capabilities of the facility efficiently. - The Vibratory Metering Feeder installed accepts the feed from a tote box tipper. It is manufactured with a special reinforced load plate to withstand the large heavy drop of the scrap metal on the feed-end.
