Royal Air Force (RAF) cut costs by £30,000 and reduce cleaning time by over 60% RAF Odiham is situated in North Hampshire. It operates three support helicopter (SH) squadrons and one army air corps (AAC) lynx squadron. The flying units are supported by an engineering logistics wing, which provides 2nd line aircraft, equipment engineering and logistics support. Challenges RAF Odiham noted that a considerable amount of time was wasted cleaning its Optical Defence Aid Suites by hand. The work was monotonous and as a result they found it hard to motivate personnel to clean the suites to the high standard that is required. ‘The dust that was produced during the cleaning process created silicon particulates.
