RFID STANDS FOR ZERO OUT-OF- STOCKS Hansgrohe uses RFID to reduce the complexity of operational processes. Background German manufacturer of bathroom and kitchen fittings Hansgrohe transports components in containers from its factory to the production facility. Challenge The complexity of operational processes makes it difficult to guarantee the availability of parts to maximize worker productivity. Solution Hansgrohe added WebTM RFID inlays to bar-coded Kanban cards. Workers at the factory place Kanban cards in the sleeves of containers being shipped to the production facility. The data, collected by an RFID reader, is transferred to Hansgrohe’s ERP system. Success Automating the Kanban process has enabled Hansgrohe to track which components have been used, which items have been assembled
