Yet when Shelby, an icon of the U.S. auto industry, surveyed the northeast Texas community where he had grown up, he saw a plethora of people who needed help finding a career path. “There are many young men and women who are stuck in dead-end jobs,” he reportedly said. 1 “They went straight to work after high school. [...] All of a sudden, they found [...] they could not get out of this rut they had dug themselves into.
