CASE STUDY Port Elizabeth South Africa LED FLOOD LIGHTING AREA FLOOD LIGHTING Residential Area Summary Project Benefit Located in a rural area on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth, which is one of the Republic of South Africa’s major sea- ports and is located in the south side of the country, the test site was a town that had relatively higher concerns for safety due to low overall illumination and some over- ly dark zones at night. To solve this problem, a new high mast solution has been adopted using GigaTera MAHA 400W products. Existing 1KW HPS lamps have been replaced with GigaT- era MAHA 400W high masts to save energy by 60% as well as improve illumination by over twofold (this data has been measured at 80m away from the high mast poles).
