Case Study Repair NGL Storage Cavern Saves ~14% More ID Challenge A Corrosion across the entire 1,100 ft. of 7 in. casing installed in a natural gas liquids (NGL) storage cavern risked NGL leakage into the surrounding formation. Mitigating potential leakage with a 5-1/2 in. standard liner would restrict the NGL flow annulus and constrain flow rates into and out of the cavern, making repair unattractive.
