Bank Rakyat, Malaysia’s leading Islamic cooperative bank, partnered with EY Malaysia to accelerate digital transformation while upskilling its own people. Using a Digital Augmented Resources (DAR) model and the 4Es framework (Engage, Educate, Empower, Enable), embedded EY experts co-delivered key initiatives—cloud migration, microservices for open banking, an integrated customer 360 platform, digital onboarding, and advanced data/analytics. Over an 18-month, three-phase program, more than 40 staff were trained in Agile and modern tech, project delivery sped up, digital competency rose 64%, and the bank strengthened its long-term ability to innovate and compete.
