Records center utilizes massive mobile to extend records capacity
Storage Solved ® The Pennsylvania State Records Center (SRC) is the official repository for inactive or semi-active records that must be retained by agencies of the commonwealth for administrative, legal or fiscal purposes. Operated by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, the center is a key component of the state’s efforts to minimize the cost of managing information resources. With the original warehouse filled to capacity, commission staff recommended the construction of an annex that would utilize mobile shelving to maximize storage space. Over the past nine years, agencies have transferred an average of 30,000 cubic feet of records to the center each year. Despite annual purging of approximately 24,000 cubic feet of obsolete records, the SRC gains a total of 6
