RAI University of Oxford The Rothermere American Institute is a dynamic hub of research, teaching and discussion: an inclusive forum for the exchange of ideas between visitors, academics and students. The award-winning project is conceived as a pavilion that faces out onto a new garden quadrangle and Mansfield College beyond. Its sensitive design has been lauded as “one of the most beautiful recent buildings in Oxford.” The Institute is a modern interpretation of its neighbour, the Grade I listed neo-Gothic Mansfield College Library. Both buildings share a common organisation and feature the use of bay windows as intimate reading areas for students and faculty.
