Radiation Medicine pioneer Elekta is growing fast. Fortunately, they implemented the Critical Manufacturing, manufacturing execution system (MES) at three sites in Europe, UK, and China before regulatory changes hit, requiring more documentation and labeling. One facility is processing nearly 35% more manufacturing order lines per month than four years ago, without increasing the headcount. They have already saved $85,000 in archiving costs over four years and expect $850,000 over the 20-year storage period. Elekta has also reduced time to make an engineering change to a work instruction by about 97%.
