WEAV3D collaborated with Altair to automate simulation workflows for its composite lattice “Rebar for Plastics” technology. Modeling anisotropic composite lattices using traditional FEA required extensive manual effort and long lead times. By leveraging Altair HyperMesh, WEAV3D created a parametric workflow that generated accurate lattice models directly from input definitions, enabling faster simulation and optimization in OptiStruct. Engineers could evaluate designs earlier in the development cycle and iterate efficiently. The new process reduced modeling time by more than 50% and lowered costs by up to 87%, making advanced composite reinforcement more scalable and commercially viable across automotive, construction, and transportation applications.
