Printer Take-up Hub
Printer Take-up Hub RTP Company ABS PermaStat ® Material Dissipates Static Charge Thanks to the recommendation of molder Vaupell Industrial Plastic of Seattle, Washington, an RTP Company glass-filled ABS PermaStat ® compound is the material of choice for this batch take-up hub from Intermec Corporation of Everett, Washington. The hub, an accessory for bar code printers, allows small batches of bar code labels to be printed in roll format. After printing, a static charge was passed to the operator via the metallic wire bail that strips the rolled media from the hub. Since Vaupell was aware of PermaStat’s permanent, non-sloughing anti-static characteristics, they suggested the material. Intermec Corporation selected PermaStat 603, a 20% glass-filled, ABS resin which dissipates the charges
